3.5 stars. Couple things stopped this from being a four star. Firstly, the explanation for Rory's 3 day disappearance was just stupid. "I was afraid you'd hate me," is an excuse 13 year old girls give each other. Secondly, at times this was really disjointed, jumping weeks and months and dropping into the middle of a sitch without any introduction. Thirdly, there were some glaring errors that should have been picked up by a half-literate editor - shoot instead of chute (twice in one paragraph), weary instead of wary and a couple of others I can't remember off the top of my head. Basic, basic things that should have never gotten into print.
Aside from that it was very typical Mathewson - a light-hearted, campy farce with larger than life heroes with larger than life flaws. It didn't quite live up to the first and second books in the series, but it was cute and funny and the epilogue made it all worthwhile.
